This past month I had the pleasure of hosting two amazing guests on my Quick Bites from Mind Over Food podcast. Both Abby Grey from “Cooking with Abby” and Kirsten Reed from “Nursing Your Way to Wellness” brought a wealth of information and experience to our conversation about health and wellness. While these two inspiring women come from different fields of work, one thing became abundantly clear throughout our discussion: it’s not always about the types of food or quantity of food you eat, but your mindset when approaching eating.
Each of my guests had overlapping approaches to health and wellness and it was fascinating to hear their different perspectives. Kristen Reed sees the importance of self-care and resilience and how incorporating this into your life is key. She stresses that anything temporary is never the answer because if something is not sustainable or approachable – it is not wellness. Similarly, Abby Gray’s passion for the culinary arts has inspired her to help people figure out how to say “yes” to yourself and moderate. To her, everything is all wrapped up into one and finding your balance is part of the process maximizing your health and wellness.
I, of course, couldn’t agree more. I was happy to see the common threads both of my guests shared as well as with my approach at Mind Over Food. If you haven’t checked out these recent Season 3 podcasts, you can find them here, along with a list of my upcoming guests. Stay tuned this coming February, when I will be talking to four more unique guests throughout the month. Once again, I will be bringing in experts from a wide range of experiences and backgrounds such as healthcare, mind, body, spirit specialists, healthy intimacy and sexuality and a physician with an amazing healing system toolkit. I can’t wait to share these discussions with you and explore more approaches to taking care of our minds and bodies.
